Raka Wines
The wine was named after Raka, the beloved fishing boat of Piet Dreyer, proprietor of Raka Wines. For more than three decades, Piet has plied the seas of the southern ocean in search of the finest catch. The same passion has found home at Raka, where the Dreyer family now pursues the earth’s bounty for the creation of fine wines.
With the rich blessing of earth and elements, the help of a dedicated workforce, the enthusiasm of winemaker Josef Dreyer, and the advantages of a modern gravity-flow cellar, Piet Dreyer produces his award-winning Raka wine.

When you are in the Stanford region, come and visit us at Raka Wines, just 17 km from Stanford along the scenic R326.
At our tasting room, you can enjoy our daily selection of eight Raka wines for R80 per person. If you would like to explore a little further, additional wines can be added at R20 per wine.
Please note that the Erica range is unfortunately not available for tasting.
For something a little different, we also offer:
- Cheese & Wine Pairing – four local cheeses paired with four Raka wines.
- Ice Cream & Wine Pairing – three delicious ice creams paired with four Raka wines.
While we do not have a restaurant, our small deli-style shop offers a selection of local goodies, including cheese, olives, relish, biscuits, nuts, and more. You are welcome to choose your own selection of snacks to enjoy alongside your wine tasting.
